- I have placed an order, now what ?
You will receive an order e-mail from us detailing costs and payment instructions. In case you did not opt for online payment by credit card or bank transfer, please make the payment promptly and send us a confirmation e-mail giving payment details and we will despatch your Order on receipt of payment.
- I have placed an order and want to change payment or other details?
Please reply to the e-mail you received from us and detail the changes you need. Also inform us, if you want to cancel the order for some reason.
- What are the payment modes you offer ? VPP ? MO ? Cash ?
We offer most forms of payment. We accept payments by PayPal, Google Checkout, ABC Payments / Citibank, Itz Cash, and PayMate Mobile Payment. We accept online payments via credit card (Visa, Diners Club, Master, Amex, JCB and others) or online bank transfer or net banking and offline payments via online transfer to our ICICI / HDFC bank account from within your bank online system or ICICI / HDFC ATM drop-off of Cheque/DD or Cheque/DD sent to our office via mail/courier. VPP and Money Order (MO) is too cumbersome and we do not provide that facility. Since we do not entertain walk-in to our office and we do not have any shop anywhere, we cannot accept Cash.
- I live in New Delhi, can I collect it from you ?
This is the most frequent query we get. We do not offer this option. Its extremely difficult to meet and hand over personally. We do not entertain walk-in to our office and we do not have any shop anywhere. Online payment at time of ordering is the preferred mode and we request you to kindly not ask for this option.
- Fine use courier, but what is it going to cost ?
We charge actual shipping charges only. We charge by weight. Currently, minimum shippping charge is Rs. 30 by courier anywhere in India including NCR. For shipping outside India, our minimum charge is Rs. 130/ $2.90 by Govt Registered Post.
- Do you ship internationally ?
We ship internationally to all countries. We offer Registered Post w/ Acknowledgement (7-12 business days), Speed Post (5-7 business days) and Courier (3-5 business days).
- I made offline payment, now what ?
Please send us an e-mail with your payment details. We will confirm the payment and then despatch your Order.
- How long does it take to ship ?
We try to ship the same day or the next day from the date we receive the payment. It can take the courier company a further 1-2 days to deliver it. Please account for these days when you order. We can try rush orders but it is not always possible and no guarantees can be given for delivery by a certain date.
- How do you ship ? How will I know once you have despatched it ?
Within India: We use The Professional Couriers, First Flight or Blazeflash Courier. If courier service is not available in a certain area, we ship through Speed Post and if Speed Post also does not offer service in that area, we ship through Registered Post w/o acknowledgement.
Outside India: We use Trackon Couriers, The Professional Couriers or ICC Bombay Courier Worldwide. If you choose Speed Post or Registered Post w/ acknowledgement as your mode of shipping, we use the respective services offered by Indian Postal Service. Once the courier agency has picked up your Order, we will send you an e-mail with the despatch details.
- How do I get in touch with Linux Bazar ? Any telephone number ?
Presently, we do not have a call centre. So we prefer e-mail for customer support. Please send us an e-mail, that’s the best way of getting in touch with us. We respond to all e-mails within 24 hours. If you must call us, please call us at +91-11-40546335.
- Do you stock items? Can you check the availability before I place the order?
NO. We are an online retailer. Just like any other e-tailer, we DO NOT stock any item. We only procure the items once we receive the order and payment. We cannot check the availability beforehand. Please place order online and make payment. We will try to find your items and ship them to you.
- What kind of media you use for Linux / Open Source Software ?
You can buy Open Source Software for Windows and Linux Distributions on Linux Bazar. No pirated software and other requests please. We ship both CDs and DVDs. We use original moserbaer media and burn the official distributions with great care.
- Do you provide any support ? Installation and post install ?
Please note that Linux Bazar does not provide any support for the software provided. No warranty either expressed or implicit is there (other than for replacement of defective media, find details in later FAQ below). For any help on installation or for post install problems and trouble shooting, please refer to the official website of the software developer and/or community support forums on the web. Google is an excellent start for all Linux queries.
- Linux is free. How can you sell it ?
We provide download service. We do not charge for linux software. We would like to recover bandwidth, media, operations and manpower costs and make some profit. Business that is not sustainable cannot survive for long.
- Panic !! The CD you shipped is not working !!
Don’t worry. First check if there are any visible scratches. If possible try the CD/DVD on some other CD/DVD drive and check. Scan the disk using any CD/DVD data recovery software to check if the disc is damaged. If nothing helps, then send us an e-mail and we will replace the defective media. Please note that re-shipping costs will have to be paid before we re-ship.
